In this unit I watched two different videoed lessons. In the first lesson, the teacher was not very effective, scared the students, did not model or explain what he expected, and was overall intimidating to the students. In the second lesson the teacher used models, easy to relate to examples, miming, drawings, humour, and clear instructions to teach the students. I learned the importance of the teacher's personality, tone, lesson plan, and overall demeanour to the class. If a teacher clearly explains a topic, gives clear examples, answers questions, and is overall encouraging, there's nothing students cannot learn.
