During my time completing this course I have relearned and reactivated information that I was taught long ago but never would have been able to teach to a student. As a native english speaker everything seems to come naturally, but as I moved through the course I realized how little I remembered about how and why things are spoken and written the way they are. This course has allowed me to understand and grasp the rules of the english language that I remember learning from my textbooks in elementary school. This understanding and knowledge will allow me to teach and explain material to students with confidence. Along with the grammar and vocabulary knowledge I have learned a variety of teaching methods and techniques that will help me in the classroom. The ESA method and guides on lesson planning have been especially helpful. Along with suggestions on what kinds of materials and activities to use, I have the tools I need to create effective lesson plans.
