I like how the course was both complete and comprehensive. It was really good for me to review and re-learn what I was able to get from my years of teaching. I often tell my students (both children & adults) that everything goes back to the basics because they serve as the foundation, so it always helps to keep them in mind. And I must say, it applies just as well with me! Another thing I appreciate about the course is I am motivated to confront one of my weaknesses, and that is lesson planning. I often get great ideas for teaching, but I still need to work on planning, organizing and incorporating them into my lesson plans. This is a challenge for me because I find it really tedious. It's my least favorite part of the job, second only to computing grades! Thanks to this course, I am now one step closer to coming up with better-organized lesson plans. This will provide me with a clearer direction when I teach, and it will also enable me to better guide students in the course of their learning. Answering the essay questions also helped to exercise and hone my writing skills. For me, this is crucial in coming up with clear and complete, well-written lesson reports and lesson plans.
