I think that the most important thing that I personally gained from this course was how to plan each class effectively. Before enrolling in this tesol course I did not have a clear vision of how to run each class to be the most effective for the students, but now I do. I think that making all of those ESA lesson plans, be they the straight forward, boomerang, or patchwork was extremely helpful, and now I feel like I have the ability to make each and every class as effective as possible by following the ESA model, but also by being flexible and incorporating my own personality and teaching style in with that of each individual class. Another of the most important things I learned from this class was how to be flexible. Every class and every level and every student is different, so, while there are good ideas of how to teach each of those categories, there is no fool proof plan in order to be a good english teacher. The effective english teacher has to be well-prepared, but also needs to expect the expected to happen and to meet and deal with every new situation with a smile and a great attitude. I plan on coming to every class with a smile on my face and to expect anything.
