I feel I have gained greatly from this course. I did some volunteer teaching in indonesia before, but it was haphazard and looking back I can think of a hundred things I would have done differently, even with the very limited supplies and small area for a large group. This course has provided me with the confidence to be creative and flexible in my teaching, while giving me the knowledge I need to effectively educate students. I plan to go to indonesia post-haste to work as an english teacher, ideally in Bogor or Jakarta where I have more connections but anywhere in the country would be a start. After several years teaching there I plan to go to another nearby country and continue teaching there. In short I plan to teach english for a long time. I really enjoyed my first taste of it and I feel this course has equipped me to be passionate about it.
