These skills are the most problematic, and in fact I still need to think about them and work with them for awhile longer before I'll be comfortable applying them in my ESL teaching situation. Possibly, this is because my work is almost entirely with basic level young adults, all women. Their alphabet and their punctuation is entirely different from English.Additionally, many of my students left school at 12 or 14. Nevertheless, I've been motivated to attempt creating my own very brief texts this week (4-6-sentence paragraphs), and using the straight ESA, working with them during class (the jury is still out...).
