Practical techniques and activities are something I always struggle with. I find I spend too much time dwelling on listening and reading, and don't emphasize this side of learning enough. This section was insightful as getting students motivated on the scariest (speaking) part of learning a new language can be so daunting. Though it also relieved me that some of my techniques were in-line with the teaching values of others, such that pronunciation is not critical skill early on.
