HOW CAN PARENTS HELP STUDENTS TO LEARN ENGLISH? HOW CAN PARENTS INFLUENCE THE LEARNING PROCESS OF STUDENTS? Learning English as a foreign language represents a long way to the person who decides to do it, whether he or she does good with it, it will turn challenging at some point. Learning itself is one of the most triggering process for a human being, independently of what it’s being learned, and there are many external and internal factors that may have an impact on this process. Motivation, desire, responsibility are some of these factors, all of them come from within the person. However there are some others which are not controlled by the subject, such as external pressures, mandatory tasks and support. This last aspect is going to be the main point of this text. Teachers are usually able to go deeply into their relationship with their students, since commonly they have to meet many times a week for a couple of hours, this enables them to have actual information about everything that surrounds the student’s life, therefore they can understand in a pretty sensitive way the student’s performance and the reasons why they perform in this way. Knowing this, it perfectly make sense that a teacher can tell whether family of a student is being helpful and supportive during the learning process or not, because the differences in the behaviors and attitudes of a student whose family is supportive and other whose family is not, is absolutely clear. When families, specially parents, really dedicates home-time to practice, to use the content learned during lessons, to review and reward, the results on the student’s progress is completely outstanding. It has been stablished that during the early years of a human, this means a person’s childhood, all the details regarding to personality, discipline and self-control, which are totally relevant when decision making comes across in their lives, are settled. That is why the company, guidance and encouragement from parents or families in general will definitely impact the process of a young learner, specially when making decisions about the management of all kind of aspects related to the learning process. As a teacher one is able to come to a realization; when a young learner has a great quality environment, involving encouragement and care from parents, the results inside and outside the classroom are easily achieved, they remember words easily, they are able to understand the teacher better, and seems to be happier when learning. In addition to this, one can also perceive how does the self-confidence and safety feeling in learners can whether be high or low, when facing new challenges in a lesson and during the learning process in general, and this is also a result of parents company. Sometimes it can be tiring for parents to accompany this process because it may take a lot of time and efforts and even maybe arguments with their kids but it is important for them to really be there and guide children towards loving to learn. As a conclusion it can be said that there are many responsible of the learning English results in young learners, two of them are teachers and parents, and in order for the process to have good results, both of them need to work together towards the same aim or objective. The communication between them need to be clear and effective, they should be tuned in what they are working on with the children. Finally, their main goal must be to provide the greatest environment for student to grow enjoying the process, and they should always remember; the greatest teacher in life are parents.
