To conclude, English has indeed become the lingua franca of this generation which impacts all industries and aspects of modern life as we know it in the twenty-first century. Whether in academics, science, diplomatic relationships, the growth of tourism from an economic standpoint, in all cases English can be found as a common denominator. Even an emerging superpower like China has adapted to the trend and encouraged English language school so that they may remain dominant on the international scene. If Chinese were a language more easily accessed from a structural standpoint, would it have a chance at becoming the next lingua franca?
