As a person who loves phonetics, this unit was one of the best of this course so far. I agree that it can be difficult and daunting for new and or inexperienced EFL teachers. However I think I will enjoy it. I am tempted to have my students be able to read and write the IPA but now realize that it is not the most important nor the most effective way of teaching pronunciation.
