When teaching a class, the way a lesson is presented is just as important as what is presented. If the teacher is nervous, not personable, dismissive of the students, or fails to grade their language, this will have a negative effect on the class. In order to learn a new language, a student must be comfortable. Making sure that students feel at ease to speak and understand instructions is key to fostering a good learning environment. A teacher needs to make sure that the level of language they are using is appropriate for the learners, or even a little below their level if a new concept is being introduced. They also need to consider how they will give instructions, and what questions they will ask to confirm students understand what is expected of them.
