This unit introduces teaching the two receptive skills- reading and listening. It covers the reason and the way we can work on listening and reading and also the problems that might occur. Besides, there is outline of a typical receptive skills Lesson with the patchwork method and real example of it. From this unit, I have gained some useful ways of approaching language difficulties, including pre-teaching vocabulary, careful selection of texts that are suitable for all students.
