I have been working full time at a junior high school while I have been studying this course and I find that I have already put many of the skills I have learnt to use at work every day. I have found many of the topics in this course to be very useful, especially the grammar units where I knew how to produce the grammar as a native speaker but have trouble teaching it to other people. I also learnt a lot about effective lesson planning, different phases and the focus of each phase. A lot of the theory in the coursework is supported by what I am doing every day in a monolingual classroom. Although I have not taught in a multilingual class yet, I look forward to putting the knowledge of this different aspect of ESL teaching to use in the near future.
