I have learned a great deal more about the rules of english grammar and how to explain them to non-native speakers, which will enable me to be more organized and concise in presenting new concepts. I have also learned about specific aspects of english grammar that tend to confuse learners, and have a better understanding of how to clarify those language points as problems arise. What I found most useful about this course was learning about teaching practices, specifically all of the ideas for activities and how to use them to practice different language points and skills, as well as how to avoid teacher-centric lessons and structure ESA-style lessons. I have already begun planning more varied and better organized lessons as a result, and have begun to put more emphasis on activities where students discover new information for themselves and help each other.
