First Language Acquisition versus Second Language Acquisition Annette Rose - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
When observing children, the speed and accuracy to which they acquire their native language is quite remarkable to adults. There are many different cultures and many ways in which children are raised, but the rate at which they acquire this information is consistent all over the world. In the scientific community, language acquisition by humans is one of the most unexplainable and highly studied feats in our everyday lives. Parents do not teach their children the grammatical structure of language or how to speak it, rather it is something that is acquired early in life and continues to progress into adulthood. It is said that by the time a child enters pre-school, he or she already has mastered most of the mechanics of their mother language (Galasso). Why complete a TEFL course Paula Brennan - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
The motives people have, with regard to undertaking such an intensive and demanding course as a TEFL(Teaching English as a Foreign Language), are varied: a desire to live and work in some exotic location; to meet and interact with new people from all walks of life and, indeed, all corners of the globe: to enhance their existing skills or supplement a CV; to forge a different career path or, more altruistically, to seek to improve the lives of others by enabling them to communicate with the wider world while perhaps benefiting them in both social and financial contexts. I would like to state that the latter, decidedly the most admirable one, was my motive - but it was not. My motive, rather ironically, was to become a better English teacher to my native English speaking ...					 [Read more]

Tefl article - TEFL Teaching skills in the classroom. #307 - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
Teaching skills are a combination of knowledge personality and judgement. A lot of people think that teaching is merely a teacher standing in front of a class telling them about a certain subject but it is definitely much more than that. And it doesn?t bode that just because you know your subject knowledge in depth, you are able to teach it well. Teaching styles vary from teacher to teacher but the good core skills are a good voice and organisational skills. Having decent facilities to use can greatly aid in your teaching and conveying what you wish for the student to learn such as videos, computers or cassettes but if you are a good teacher these should just be an added bonus rather than an necessity. Students take a class to learn and develop their skills and a good...					 [Read more]

Teacher Career Development , why complete a TEFL course? Ellie Marcus - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT
What does Teacher Career Development and completing a TEFL course have in common' Me. I am an elementary school teacher who wanted to develop her career by learning how to teach English overseas. In signing up for this course, my goal was to obtain a certificate and go teach abroad. I had not planned on having a course book of English grammar that I could use in my 5th grade classroom. Without thinking about it I was able to develop my skills as a Language Arts teacher, as well as gain confidence in a subject I was not very familiar with. I found myself developing as an educator and completing the TEFL course all at the same time.In Unit 1 of the online TEFL course, it talked about what makes a good teacher and their roles. 'A good teacher should really love teaching. A...					 [Read more]

TEFL Certification Columbus Ohio - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ TEFL USA
As a city that consistently scores highly on various polls related to economic prosperity, low-crime and general quality of life, Columbus is understandably a popular choice with our trainees. The city is also the state capital and a major center of education, and has a vibrant entertainment scene as you would expect from any large city with a thriving student population. Although it is perhaps less well-known than neighboring cities Cleveland and Cincinnati, the pleasant urban environment and youthful atmosphere of Columbus ensure that the city remains a great destination for completing our TEFL/TESOL training course.
Famously named after the explorer Christopher Columbus, the city has steadily grown to become an important center of business, finance, education, and more recently tourism....					 [Read more]
