This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit explains four elements of the English grammar from the perspective of the language teacher, those are: the modal auxiliary verbs (the different kinds, what are the possible purpose of their use, examples and how they are affected by the past or future tense when relevant), the relatives clauses (the relative pronouns that introduce them, the differences between the defining and non-defining relative clauses), the passive voice (how it is structured and developed from the active voice and its uses), and the phrasal verbs (the main types, examples of each and tips for teaching them).Troubleshooting is a very broad term and likely impossible to cover all the potential problems that will arise during teaching. This unit covered the most obvious ones: reluctant students, uneven distribution of English skills, large classes. Every teacher will run into problems with their students, it's the mark of a good teacher to learn from each experience to better handle the next one. Ultimately, it is on the teacher to learn the best methods of dealing with their students. Every situation is different, just like every student is different. There is no one answer fits all for teaching.
