This unit helped me to understand how to introduce the complicated language of a native speaker into the classroom, something I have to do daily in my job. I have learnt about the importance of training receptive skills and of giving students confidence in their abilities to understand without having necessarily to know every word they read or hear. I also understand examples of how to structure an effective ESA lesson designed to work on receptive skills.
