Having been in a foreign country that speaks Mandarin Chinese as a first language, I have been lucky to understand the struggle that comes with mastering productive skills,more especially writing . Oftentimes students ignore the writing aspect of language learning and focus on listening and speaking, with reading coming close too. Writing is often seen as a not so necessary skill at the first stages of learning a language, something that can prove to be a major ,intake in later stages. The popularity of technology has also made things even more complicated. Some colleges permit note taking using laptops which further diminishes students’ willingness to put pen to paper and thus complicates improving language learning by writing. The gaming section in this unit is very important, especially for young learners who have short attention spans and need something more engaging for the whole duration of a lesson, otherwise they zone out.
