After reading unit 12 "teaching productive skills," I realized that there're several things we can do as teachers to motivate students to participate in class and interact with other peers. Of course, we have to start by being friendly and welcoming so students can feel more comfortable and build confidence gradually. When students do not wish to share, we should not force them to speak. Instead, we should give them time and once more and more students are sharing, the shy ones may hope to join in as well. By providing students with different games and activities, students will be exposed to more interactive opportunities.
