A lesson plan helps a teacher to teach effective. But the plan should not be a blow by blow script, it should be simple and have the general structure of the lesson which will cover the main points of the lesson, but also allowing flexibility. The lesson plan should have an aim of what the students are learning. Something the teacher can refer to as to what to teach. And also as a record of the lesson taught. The lesson plan should be based on the ESA method, with appropriate methods used for each stage. A teacher can also monitor their own lesson. This helps the teacher improve their own skills and how their students are progressing.
