Even after teaching for several years as a volunteer I find that I cannot let up planning a lesson. I usually just joy down a brief outline of ideas and times for each activity. This helps me to remember the sequence that I planned and helps me to stay on task. From this lesson I have learned the importance of giving myself feedback on my own lesson. I ponder to myself about a lesson that was slow or one that was right on and engaging but I have not been in the habit of writing down my thoughts. This process would serve as a guide and reminder as I plan other lessons and as I strive to improve my teaching skills.
