This unit has covered teaching two of the four basic skills. Which are the receptive skills, reading and listening. Students will be motivated to learn these skills so that they will be able to achieve particular aims like understanding instructions or for pleasure. The unit covered the specialist skills readers and listeners need to employ (skimming, scanning, deducting, predicting) and most importantly it detailed teaching successfully these skills which includes pre-teaching difficult or unknown vocabulary, the importance of topic choice and sparking interest in your students and providing realistically achievable tasks.
