This unit explained how teachers can use different themes and materials to teach young learners. With younger learners it is effective to use chants and rhymes. Older students may find it embarrassing to sing in front of peers so the the teacher could tell them to listen to the lyrics of their favorite songs. Children also enjoy coloring, making drama sketches and writing stories. Playing games with students is also a great idea.The teacher can adapt games like Monopoly, Pictionary and Battleship to teach a language point.I really liked the idea of changing Monopoly cards and properties to questions or to learn vocabulary.
