This unit is important because it deals with the structure of lessons, the required steps needed in lessons, and the pacing of lessons. As a teacher of Social Studies in the US, I know the importance of proper planning. Without this crucial step, no lesson can be successful. I thought an important point that was mentioned in the unit was that lessons should be planned not scripted. While it's good to know where you want the lesson to go, no two classes are the same, and because of that, teachers must be flexible with their plans and make the necessary changes that will be most beneficial to each specific group of students.
