Unit 10 is about two videos showing the same teacher presenting the same topic to the same students. In the first video, we see that the manner the teacher presents the lesson to the student leaves the student rather confused and intimidated. Firstly, the teacher begins the class without a proper introduction to establish rapport with the students. Secondly, he begins presenting the lesson without an engage phase which is imperative in the ESA lesson plan. Thirdly, the teacher does not give an explanation of how to use the grammar structure presented. Furthermore, the teacher does not give students enough time to complete the study stage activity and does not inform them beforehand how much time they have left before the end of the activity.  Also, at the activate stage, the teacher does not explain how the activity is meant to be carried out and as such the students find it difficult to understand and participate in the activity correctly. The teacher’s manner of correcting the student is also problem as it leaves the students very embarrassed and intimidated as well.         In the second video, it is quite the opposite as we see the teacher beginning the class with a proper introduction, learning the students name and later on involving them equally in the class activity. We see that the teacher begins lesson with an engage phase on a topic which is familiar to the student and the students have no problem participating. The teacher smiles more and even laughs with the student which lightens up the atmosphere and makes it conducive for learning. Teacher takes time to explain grammar structure, gives multiple examples to ensure students understand before moving on. The teacher also takes time to explain the activity to the students and gives examples to make sure they understand before beginning.       We see from these two videos the difference between a good lesson and a bad lesson and how the two can positively or negatively affect the class. We see that the teacher’s attitude during the lesson affects the class greatly and teachers should be able to work on their attitudes making sure to always put on a smile no matter what, be patient, be engaging and also be positive in the face of errors or mistakes made by students. Teachers should also remember to praise the students as it encourages them and gives them a sense of fulfillment.
