Productive skills consist of two aspects: writing and speaking. When focusing on improving writing and speaking skills in class, teachers should consider the main difference between speaking and writing which is that written language tends to be more formal than spoken language. Keeping this in mind, the teacher should consider class activities in terms of being fluency or accuracy based. Including games in class activities have proven to be effective in improving written and speaking skills in the class room and should always be incorporated in lessons.
