When introducing new grammar, vocabulary and function there are a few things to consider. With vocabulary it is important to consider the appropriacy in relation the student and task and how often that word is likely to be used in conversation. With grammar it is important to understand the meaning of the word, its uses, and how the word changes based upon sentence structure. Function includes areas such as agreeing or disagreeing, inviting, etc. While lessons may focus on a particular area, the English language requires the engagement, study and activation of all three areas in order to form fluency among one's students.
