The last unit, very appropriately, is on Evaluation and Testing. There are different kinds of assessments; tutorials, which is review, evaluation by students, which includes a questionnaire or guided discussion, and most commonly, tests. Tests given at the beginning of a course are placement or diagnostic tests, which assess the level of the students to see what must be taught. Next is progress tests, and they happen throughout the course. Practice tests are useful before taking an external test, which is usually required by many. External tests can help international students get jobs or to be admitted into a university.
