In this unit, I learned about EFL methodologies (the way in which the language is taught), including Grammar-translation, Audio-lingualism, Presentation, Practice, and Production, Task-based learning, Communication and Language teaching, Community Language Learning, The Silent Way, The Lexical Approach, and Suggestopaedia. The fundamentals of each of these was covered, though no single methodology is better than another. The three stages of EFL were also detailed. These include Engage, Study, and Activate. The occurrences of each stage was discussed in depth, along with examples of different orders of the three stages.
