This unit went in depth into different teaching techniques and theories-- giving some good examples of activities to include in a lesson. The main takeaway is to use ESA (Engage, Study, Activate). A teacher has to grab the students' attentions, give them the tools they need for the lesson that day, and allow them to put their new knowledge to use. While abiding to the ESA structure rigidly is not recommended, including all these elements into a lesson plan will be the most effective. This unit also importantly discussed correcting students and how/ when best to do so to keep up morale but also keep students on track.
