This unit gave me a good understanding of the basic framework of a good lesson plan, particularly lessons based off of the ESA methodology. It also provided good ideas for activities and strategies to correct students. The emphasis on the difference between errors and mistakes was also important to understand. As a student who has studied a foreign language I understand there is a fine line between a teacher who corrects a student too much and not enough. Understanding that certain flubs are mistakes that a students can correct on their own and some are errors that require intervention was important for me to understand.
