This section provides for mechanisms to teach three components of language i.e. vocabulary (what words mean, when they are used, where they belong, how the words interact with other words, how the word is written and how it is spoken); grammatical structure (what the language means, how and when to use it, forms and patterns in the language, are there any differences in the spoken and or written form); and language function (how the language can be used to achieve a function like an invitation or a suggestion). It is important to understand what ESA techniques or ideas to use when teaching any one of the aforementioned.
