From this lesson I am learning more about the importance of lesson planning and using the Engage Study Activate (ESA) format to structure activities. The activities for reading and listening should be balanced to meet the general interest of all the students as opposed to the interests of the teacher. They should also be balanced to use words appropriate to the student but at the same time challenging with the introduction of new vocabulary words. The lessons should not be too difficult so that the objective of the lesson is achievable by the student to keep them motivated to learn and feel as if they are progressing.
