This unit dealt with receptive learning and partially touched on productive learning. It also listed ways that I can teach receptive learning more efficiently. I have been studying Japanese while I am taking these courses, and I can understand the difficulties that students would between all of these phases of learning. For instance, I can now read hiragana, but can only write certain parts. When I lived with a Vietnamese family I could understand them when I heard them but could not reproduce their words to construct a sentence. I can use my own difficulties in understanding and helping my students learn English.
