This unit provided me with the foundations needed to provide a lesson, primarily through the ESA method. Just as the lexical approach breaks the language down into manageable chunks of words, the Engage, Study, and Activate method does this with lesson structures in a straightforward way. Through creating a base of interest via the Engage phase, we can move on to free usage of the language in the Activate phase or analysis of mistakes and errors in the Study phase. Just as words may be moved around in a sentence to change meaning. The phases of this method may be switched around to suit the needs of a particular class.
