Unit three presented information on course development. The unit explained the importance of a syllabus, and the various styles of syllabi. Sometimes there are things outside of one's control that get in the way of what they can cover in the classroom, like employer expectations and the availability of materials. Testing is an important aspect of creating a course because it allows the teacher and the students to see the progress they have made, and the areas they still need to work on. Understanding the level of English your students possess, and the level they need to achieve is vital to teaching a successful course.
