Unit 7 did a good job simplifying how to teach vocabulary, grammar and functions. For vocabulary I thought that the most useful advice given was about how to choose what vocabulary to use. Teachability is especially important, I think, as the vocabulary certainly can't be activated without understanding. As far as teaching grammar goes, the mention of differences between spoken and written English is important and easily overlooked. While functions are fairly straightforward, I liked the idea for an activation activity: practice inviting and declining in pairs until one side can remember no more. Simple and fun.
