What an amazing contrast between Video 1 and Video 2. It clearly depicted the differences between effective teaching and non effective teaching. It was interesting to see how different the ESA plan when done right makes a huge difference with the students. Most of the students in each of the videos were the same so the class was the constant. The engagement level was much higher in the Video 2, since the students were receiving better and clear direction, rapport was built in the second Video by Simon, the teacher introducing himself and he asked each person how to pronounce their names which likely drew them into him. Also, in Video 1 he was quick to tell them they were wrong and just fell short of making them feel like they would get embarrassed if they answered wrong. So they were less likely to safely participate.
