This part of the unit I taught the importance of receptive skills. Usually, I am given reading assignements from the textbook and very rarely I know how to accomplish this task but this unit as been helpful. I learnt that that we read and listen for purpose and for entertain; and also the requirement for selecting new text. This unit also taught me that I should choose texts that interest and motivate my students. The sample lesson plan was especially helpful as to how to go about this.
