This unit goes over receptive skills, reading and listening, and the role they play in students' understanding of a new language. It also covers the importance of vocabulary, and finding a balance between new and essential words. The patchwork example lesson using Elvis was great, and really highlighted the engage phase for me, to start with something interesting, and through that try and learn what the students find interesting so as to incorporate in later lessons.
