It is obvious that good classroom management is one of successful keys during the educational process. So, what is the classroom management? How can teacher achieve effective classroom management? Where is the line between a kind, understanding teacher and a firm, demanding teacher? All these questions are certainly an important part of the educational process and will be reviewed in this essay. Let's find the correct interpretation of classroom management. It's naturally that every teacher will find his/ her own style of teaching and classroom management through time and practice. As it was said during this course, in order the class was able to learn effectively the teacher must be able to inspire confidence to the students. At the same time poor classroom management will almost assuredly elevate teacher's stress and burnout rates. Therefore we can say, that classroom management is the skills and techniques, which teachers use to maintain control in the classroom to ensure that students are organized, on task, well-behaved, and productive. Possessing the skills of organization of friendly, relaxed and joy atmosphere in the classroom, indeed can feel like magic. Having defined the interpretation of classroom management, it is necessary to understand how good classroom management is achieved. What will help teacher to master classroom management and create a quality learning environment? First of all, I'd like to start with mutual respect, which is extremely important before, during and after classes. Before any instruction begins, a mutual amount of respect must be developed between student and teacher. Students must understand that there are certain rules that they must follow to ensure their success. At the same time, teacher must know how to pronounce each student’s name correctly, do not use sarcasm, and do not make students feel dumb or uncomfortable for asking questions. Second, is to be prepared and having a strong lesson plan. Another aspect of effective classroom management is aware of what is necessary to do. The better is teacher's plan, the better the class will likely run. It is important to develop plans that work for certain teaching style, accommodate all students’ needs, go along with curriculum standards, and are curious and effective for the students. Third, is set the certain procedures and rules to reach the consistency. As I could see through my experience, the order and organization make a classroom run fluently. Therefore, arrangement of a consistent set of procedures that the students are familiar with will help the classroom run in friendly and effective way. For example, the teacher will save more time when students aware of how to use phones or other devices, when students are polite and speak uninterrupted, when they are effectively taught how to act in different situations during the class. Fourth, is use non verbal communication, which actually is the unspoken language we use to show our intentions and feelings. Eye contact, gesture, body language as well as facial expressions could be extremely useful tools the teacher will use to reduce the talking time and establish rapport with students. Teacher can use eye contact to maintain the discipline, to give student a signal, and to show the students that they all are involved. Use of gestures captures students’ attention, makes the material more interesting as well as facilitates learning and provides a kind of entertainment. In terms of body language, I must say that most frequently I use it when teaching three, four and five years old kids. In view of the limited vocabulary of children, as well as in view of possible misunderstandings on their part, among other things body language is a bit of entertainment for kids. Facial expression is another important tool which can be used to manage the class, add visual interest and reduce the need of verbal communication. Fifth, is to avoid of punishing the class. Even being flexible during the teaching, there are disputes arising from time to time. In case of disputes it is necessary to address isolated behavior issues instead of punishing an entire class, as being too firm can hurt relationships with students who are on task. Sixth, is seating arrangements. Classroom management is certainly affected by how the seats are arranged in the classroom. It is important to consider such factors as space available in the classroom, students’ nationality and age, when arranging the seating. The seating arrangement also needs to be organized in a way that the teacher can easily move around the room and monitor student behavior. It is necessary to remember, that lack of effective classroom management can cause chaos and stress, which can create an unsatisfactory learning environment for students and an unsatisfactory work environment for the teacher. And I belief that above mentioned steps will help the teachers to master classroom management and create a friendly and quality learning environment.
