If we want to speak to someone from another country then the chances are that we will be speaking English to do this. As the technology advanced, the use of Internet, Mobile phones and Emails became very important for both daily life and professional life. The main language used throughout the world on the internet is English. An estimated 565 million people use the internet every day, and an estimated 52 percent of the world’s most visited websites are displayed in the English language. Learning English is important as it is the access to over half the content on the internet. Knowing how to read English will allow people access to billions of pages of information that may not be otherwise available. In this term, English has ushered in a new world where English communication has become a necessity to stand out in the world of competition (Education First Report,EF). English is the leading business language and it has become almost a requirement for people to speak English if they are to enter a global workforce. Research from all over the world shows that cross-border business communication is most often conducted in English and many international companies expect employees to be fluent in English. For most important job positions, effective English communication is one of the most important requirements that most of the companies seek for (Nishanthi, 2018).
