For example, a student from Russia, without knowledge of English, would not get the idea to become a diving instructor, despite interest in water and diving. Just as a student from Central Africa has better chances with English if he wants to work in a sales department of a big company that is internationally successful. Furthermore, a student is more likely to stand out in the application process if, unlike the others, he or she has a good to very good knowledge of English and maybe some experiences of living abroad. Students with a knowledge of English have a better chance of finding a job in bigger companies than those without a knowledge of English. In many European companies that have head quarters abroad, the corporate language is English. English is also used among employees with the same mother tongue. If the company where the student is employed is now looking for someone to go abroad for a period of time, the student is more likely to be considered than perhaps an external applicant. Because the student has the advantage that the company is already known by him or her and the required English skills are also available. Because of better job selections employees who speak more than one language tend to make more money than those who speak only one language. Students who may have had some difficulty learning the new language at first, develop more self-confidence. By experiencing success after learning, these students will be more open to new challenges, with the knowledge that they have already mastered a similar situation. Students can achieve a lot with English. For example, you can search for pen pals online and perhaps get in touch with other countries and cultures. This can help the students if their have to deal with such countries in their job. After all, every other culture has its peculiarities.
