I have learned a great deal from this course. Even though english is my mother tongue and I have spoken it my entire life, I could not breakdown the rules concerning sentence structure if I were asked prior to taking this course. I unconsciously follow so many rules when writing and speaking the english language that I am much more aware of now than ever before. It is amazing how one word can change the entire meaning of a statement. I knew that before but it was more of a habit and I did not think about which words I was using to communicate and why. I am currently waiting to be accepted into a PhD program in Global Health Development. If accepted, I anticipate traveling to non-english speaking countries where my TEFL training will be very helpful. I would love to be able to teach students while I am in school and traveling to other countries for a semester or two. Even if I do not get into a PhD program, I travel to other countries for my work, so this training will always be very useful to me. I can also teach here at home in Philadelphia.
