Pronunciation is tricky. All native english speakers have a different form of pronunciation based on accents and dialects of the english language. This unit helped to understand that one can use the phonemic alphabet to help better bring understanding to those that have trouble with the words and how they are written. For instance, Word is not spelled the way it sounds and a non-native english speaker would not be able to understand that if they are learning the word for the first time. Therefore this unit was useful in teaching how to better understand the differences in pronunciation and phonemics.
