This unit was challenging since it introduced new concepts, new vocabulary and new phonemic symbols. I found the material quite fascinating, however, since I'd never considered all the complicated aspects of English pronunciation for those who speak other languages. This unit only touched on some aspects of what is involved in English pronunciation and phonology, but it helped me appreciate why many teachers are reluctant to teach English pronunciation. I hope to be among those teachers who are willing to take on this task!
