As a native english speaker, I often subconsciously pick up on intonation and stress without even noticing it. Having learned some specific rules and tips for teaching it, I can now see why this would be important when it comes to learning English. This is something I could have my students practice daily for a few minutes each day, which would help them to get used to the variety of emotion they can use to express their thoughts. It's a somewhat confusing topic, so I would probably only get into the phonetics part with more advanced levels, but lower levels would definitely benefit from the intonation and stress practices.
