This unit provides two videos about a weak and strong lesson. The teacher's lack of focus, preparation, and contextualization in the first lesson produced a confused, intimidated class. The teacher's smile, focus, and explanations produced a clear, engaging lesson for students in the second video. I really learned a lot by seeing ESA in action. I will never just assume my students know how to engage in the activate phase simply because they may have acquired the grammar or vocabulary practiced in the engage and study phases.
