TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Alesheia
Alesheia completed her TEFL certificate course online with ITTT. In this TEFL review video, Alesheia tells us that although she studied TESOL as a minor at university, research showed that the majority of jobs required a specific TEFL certificate. She found the course to be a good refresher of her previous TESOL studies at university and it also taught her a number of new things such as classroom management and lesson planning. Alesheia recommends ITTT to new and experienced teachers looking to earn a recognized TEFL certificate.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This first unit spoke of the difference and characteristics of a good teacher and a good student. It also made me understand that there are certain characteristics that exist between a young student and an adult student. This unit also talks about the different motivations that can lead a student to participate in English classes. There are also several distinctions between levels of language and this must be considered by the teachers. In general, this first unit focuses on the qualities of a teacher and a student, their motivations and the differences between different types of students.Teaching productive skills can take on a very creative and fun way in which to learn. A student being able to express their selves in speech or writing in a language that is not their first can be challenging. However, learning these skills need not be presented in such a way that the student will shut down and tune out. This unit gives good examples of ways to create interest and points out different games that can be used in the class. The unit also explains the different types of games from competitive to group focused. Finding out which suites your individual class dynamic will be key.
