Jenny from California took the in-class TEFL course in Prague. In this TEFL review video Jenny talks about the things she learned and how they will benefit her teaching. As well as offering in-class TEFL courses at numerous centers around the world, ITTT also offers a range of online courses to suit different schedules and budgets.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This section covered teaching pronunciation. It's important for clear communication, but teachers often don't cover it because it seems so subjective and difficult to teach. However, knowing the common patterns in intonation help with this. Rise/fall, fall/rise. As well as where stress falls in the sentence. We covered the phonemic alphabet and why it's helpful. We went over voiced and un-voiced letters, and how we articulate letter sounds in English. We also went over letter so called 'short-cuts' in speech, sound changing, adding extra letters, letter dropping, ect.
